Champagne Fridays: Veuve Clicquot Masterclass

Event Date: 19th June 2026
Join us for an evening celebrating the remarkable life of Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin and the exceptional wines of the House of Veuve Clicquot.
Born in 1777 in Reims, in the heart of France’s Champagne region, Barbe-Nicole was the daughter of a textile manufacturer. Widowed at just 27, she assumed control of her husband’s wine business, an extraordinary feat for the time and guided it with vision, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. In doing so, she became one of the world’s first modern businesswomen.
During the evening, our Champagne expert will take you through a curated selection of Veuve Clicquot cuvées, sharing the fascinating story of Madame Clicquot’s life and the origins of each wine. Her ingenuity led to several milestones in Champagne: the first recorded vintage Champagne, the invention of the riddling table, and the creation of the first blended rosé Champagne—advances that continue to shape the art of Champagne-making today.
Her legacy endures in the title she so rightly earned: La Grande Dame of Champagne.
A selection of delicate light bites will be served to complement the tasting.
